Don't you just enjoy it when you meet someone new and know a nice friendship has been formed?! That was how my afternoon went today. I had gotten an email from someone a few days ago asking if she could stop by this weekend to visit, meet the sheep, talk Icelandics... I have always enjoyed visitors and visiting so my response was come on over! Now I will admit it also gives me a reason to straighten up things and any opportunity for that is a good thing. For everyone that lives here.
Oh, it was a nice visit! We talked about our sheep, her sheep, and spinning. Come to find out she'd like to learn how to use a spinning wheel. She gave the drop spindle a go, but wasn't enthusiastic about the process, and has two antique wheels she'd maybe like to give a go after she can find some missing parts for them. I showed her my wheel and then we went through some yarn I've spun so she can feel the difference in the Icelandic yarn I've spun, along with some others like Merino and Bamboo. I have really found taking fiber from raw to spun to be a fascinating process. So, to my new friend, if you're reading this, I truly enjoyed your visit and hope we can do it again some time. Now, on another farm-y note, Hon planted some red raspberry bushes for me this morning. Yahoo! Red raspberries are my favorite berries! Berries mean pie and pie means mmmmmmmmm! Even if I don't get enough for a pie this year, I will enjoy each and every berry I pick and eat without feeling the least bit of remores for not sharing. They can pick their own ;-) Smiling & Waving, Sharon
